India's Broken People
"Untouchables" - India's Broken People: The Sikh religion has taken many steps to abolish the form of slavery known as the caste system by encouraging all people to eat together, pray together, and replace their caste designations with the sole surnames 'Singh' and 'Kaur'. In 1699, Guru Gobind Singh formally eliminated all forms of discrimination by forming the pure society of equality, the Khalsa. However, the caste system remains alive in most sects of Hinduism, the majority religion of India. This video, produced by Unreported World, sheds light on why Sikhism is so adamant in guaranteeing equal rights for all and opposing the Hindu caste system.
